Any readers who follow me on social media may have seen the new Sunday walk series I kicked off earlier this week with a 5-mile trek around the Hole of Horcum on the Yorkshire Moors.
14 people joined me for this first in a fortnightly series of walks, which was amazing and humbling.

We had a fantastic time and a really good laugh – with the added benefits of feeling that bit fitter by the end, and knowing we’d raised a few quid for a worthy cause at the same time.

So why have I decided to do this?
Are your personal gremlins holding you back? Take a look at these…

• I’d like to exercise but I can’t because of X, Y and Z
• I’ve lost weight before through dieting but I can’t keep it off
• I don’t have the confidence to get fit
• I’m not very strong/flexible/co-ordinated
• I’m worried that I’ll look silly exercising in public.

If I asked you what one thing you would change about yourself, what would it be?
To lose weight? If so, you’d be in good company. That’s because, nine times out of 10, the reason people give for seeking my help, is to lose weight.
Post-holiday flab? All is not lost!
Well, if you’re anything like me, you’re feeling just a little on the flabby side of perfect at the end of the summer holiday season.

A few too many cakes, sausages and sambucas might have also left you a bit groggy, lethargic and lacking in get-up-and-go.

If that’s the case, take heart, as getting back into a healthier routine is easier than you might think – and below are some suggestions for small steps you can take to ease yourself back in, and start feeling more like it relatively quickly.
You can achieve anything you want
It seems to make sense to start the series by sharing my story – the journey which took me from full-time mum to fitness trainer and Miss Galaxy Universe competitor. Not because I like talking about myself, but because that story is integral to my ‘why’. I also hope it will inspire you to believe you can be more than you ever imagined.
