2018 – What a year!
This year I will be entering my 4th year of working for myself! In some ways it doesn’t feel as long as that but in others it feels twice as long! If you work for yourself you will know exactly what I mean. It has been a steep learning curve and I am sure there is still plenty more to learn yet!
One of my top learning points is to look back at the last year and previous years and write a list of all the things you have achieved. It’s kind of a Reverse Bucket list! It can be a very rewarding exercise; as human beings we tend to focus on the things we’ve yet to achieve rather than giving ourselves credit for the goals we have already met.
The gap between Christmas and New Year can be a bit of a none event! Like no man’s land, no one really wants to do much. I thought I would use the time to reflect a little myself. I thought I would share some of my experiences this year and maybe it will inspire you to do the same. I have really enjoyed this exercise and it has left me with a real sense of gratitude. I have been very fortunate to have some really great experiences and share some successes with clients too!

January 2018
I tried a new approach to my business and ran a Peak Performance Workshop with my Business Coach, Ros Jones, at Sandburn Hall. It was a great success! It was here I met Kim Storey. What I spoke about struck a chord in her. She came to me at the end and asked me to come to meet her husband Paul. For those of you that follow my social media you will know Kim & Paul. They are a remarkable couple. Paul, with the loving support of his wife Kim, has worked hard and lost a total of 4 ½ stone since January. I am so proud to work with them, they a proof that it works, a healthy balanced diet and exercise plan when followed will give the results desired.
April 2018
I got my first ever placing in a Bikini Competition at the Fitness Model Comps! I went with Rachel Nichols, a friend and client. We had so much fun training and competing together. Rachel also went on to win 2 categories at the following competition 2 weeks after. I was so proud of her and very happy for her to get so many trophies. Better than any trophy we have become great friends, competing is a unique experience, it is not for the faint hearted, it is this special experience that has built a strong bond of friendship between us.
May 2018
You may not think it is not an achievement to go on holiday but finding time for yourself when you work for yourself is! I took John and Jane away on a beautiful restful weeks holiday to Halkadiki in Greece. It was much needed after all the training for the comp and being so busy with clients. It is very important to reward yourself and allow yourself to recharge.
July 2018
With some good friends I climbed the Yorkshire 3 Peaks in aid of Ryedale Special Families. We had super weather and raised over £1000 for charity. I love to challenge myself and its good to do something away from my normal training environment and give something back to the community at the same time.
October 2018
I gave my first address to Brides to Be at Village Marquees Wedding Fayre, Skipsea. I shared my top ten hints on how to prepare for your wedding day. It was great fun. Chrysta, Tony and their Team made me very welcome.

November 2018
I featured in my first magazine! In Living North Magazine I showcased my 28 day Meal Plans, sharing the success of Paul & Kim’s Storey.
December 2018
It has been a fabulous month with some great results coming in from lots of clients. We are not done yet either, whether we are at the start of our journey, or a little way down the road, fitness is something that is on going. You can always develop and get better and it is something you need to maintain. It is about creating good habits and maintaining them. My job is to help you find a way you can enjoy doing just that. I help find the way that suits you best making it part of your lifestyle. A fitter, healthier you is for life not just for a holiday!
So much can happen in a year! So what is next?
For Katherine Bray Fitness Coach I am looking forward to working with my clients to reach their goals with their continued determination and success in 2019. Very excited about the next Ladies Transformation Class, this has now grown to 2 classes! I will introducing be an additional Legs Bums and Tums Class in the new year during the day! I am excited to see how all this evolves!

For me and my family, personally I am very much looking forward to our annual family holiday abroad, and enjoying some quality time with the children. I am determined for us to try skiing this year as its something I have yet to do!

But my first challenge I have signed up to do is run The Greater Manchester Marathon on Sunday 7th April 2019. I have never run a marathon before so it will be something new for me. I am running for a local charity too, Ryedale Special Families. They support families in the Ryedale area with children with special needs, any form of disability providing families with support and fun activities for the children. I would be very grateful if you felt you’d like to sponsor me, marathon training can be very tough and knowing I have people sponsoring me will help get me out the door on the bad days! Click here to sponsor me!

Wishing you all a very happy, healthy and prosperous 2019!
Thanks for reading!
